Clinical Details

Clinical and radiological findings:  Young man with a history of fall on the palm of the hand. 2 days old injury. His x rays showed a fracture dislocation of his wrist. Volar Barton fractures are intra-articular ones and they need anatomical reduction and stable fixation. So that early rehabilitation could be started as stiffness is a major issue with hand and wrist.

Preoperative Plan

Surgical Discussion

Operative remarks:

Has anyone ever tried to manage it some other way?

Orthopaedic implants used:   Distal radius anatomical locking plate. A locally made locking plate. Carries no brand name. As none of the top company works in my country.
