Patient positioning: Half lateral decubitus position
Anatomical surgical approach: Single incision poaterolateral approach
Operative remarks:Posterior plate position comes uncomfortably close to obstructing the posterior margin of the tibiofibular joint. not quite, but not an ideal plate position. For an adhoc plate 5 years ago it didnt sit badly, but there are far better plate availble for this anatomic location / fracture constellation. the bulk of this plate is entirely unnecessary here.
Orthopaedic implants used: Posterior plate - 3.5mm proximal medial tibia plate cut to length.
