Clinical Details

Clinical and radiological findings:  25 years old falling down stairs

Preoperative Plan

Planning remarks:  Posterolateral incision and posterior and lateral malleolus were detected. Afterwards, the medial malleolus was detected by moving to the supine position.

Surgical Discussion

Patient positioning:  prone and supin

Anatomical surgical approach:  posterolateral and medial approach

Operative remarks: 

Additional fixation may be required with a lateral malleole mini-plate.

Postoperative protocol:   early active movement

Orthopaedic implants used:   canulluted screw, tubuler plate, mini plate
