Surgical Discussion

Operative remarks:

It was a challenging case in every aspect.

Patient being pregnant (30th week), open wound after RTA, landed after 2 days, communication in the articular and metaphyseal regions made the decision making quite difficult for me to provide her with best possible results. Eventually the answer turned out to be quite simple, and I opted for Ilizarov fixator to deal with both bone and soft tissue elements of the injury. 3 months down the lane , she was blessed with a beautiful baby girl (healthy, I bet she's gonna be a champ) and patient achieved full ROM.

Orthopaedic implants used:   Ilizarov (Ring Fixator)
