Clinical Details

Clinical and radiological findings:  MVA, comminuted lateral tibial plateau fracture

Preoperative Plan

Planning remarks:  Modified frosch approach, submeniscal, elevate fragments, hold with k wires, plate

Surgical Discussion

Patient positioning:  Lateral

Anatomical surgical approach:  Modified Frosch

Operative remarks: 

Peroneal nerve isolated, submeniscal exposure, posterior plateau exposed, provision fixation with k wires, one screw from the back and the plateau stabilised with plate

Postoperative protocol:   Non weight bearing for 8 weeks, knee ROM exercises after suture removal

Orthopaedic implants used:   Synthes lateral plate
