Clinical Details

Clinical and radiological findings:  41 years old female fall form 1 meter high closed fracture no radial nerve palsy radial shaft fracture with third fragment

Preoperative Plan

Planning remarks:  1. supine position 2. select length of plate with x ray (10 holes) 3. anterior approach proximal and distal 4. put screw nº 2 and nº9 make sure contact between main fragments and screws in middle of bone. don't tight screws 5. x ray verification 6. correct varus with digital pressure and tight screws 7. put screws nº 1- nº 10 and then nº nº 3 and nº8

Surgical Discussion

Patient positioning:  supine position. arm table

Anatomical surgical approach:  MIPO anterior approach

Operative remarks: 

MIPO approach in middle shaft fracture its a great tool, however its not always easy to get optimal reduction. I always tried avoid traction in butterfly in order to get contact between fragments so I can use the plate to make the reduction.
