Clinical Details

Clinical and radiological findings:  55-year-old woman falling from the roof

Preoperative Plan

Planning remarks:  long pfn after percutaneous reduction

Surgical Discussion

Patient positioning:  lithotomy position

Operative remarks: 

the quality of the scopy is very poor, so the images are not displayed

Postoperative protocol:   early mobilisation

Orthopaedic implants used:   long pfn

Such fractures are prone to develop wedging once PFN is introduced; unfortunately same has happened here in addition to negative reduction … most likely it’ll fail

not sure it will fail, but the varus is a risk factor. Wedging is such a PITA
