Clinical Details

Clinical and radiological findings:  35-year-old male patient traffic accident

Preoperative Plan

Surgical Discussion

Operative remarks:

femur shaft open fracture, femur basicervical fracture and tibia shaft open fracture

I planned damage-controlled surgery.

first I did debridement and ex-fix for open fractures and DHS for femoral neck fracture. I applied civi during the window period.

In the first case, I placed the DHS plate slightly anteriorly. In case 2, I directed the retrograde femoral nail posteriorly

so there is no need to remove the dhs distal screws.

Minimal patellofemoral pain due to retrograde femoral nail

Orthopaedic implants used:   ex-fix// dhs// nail
